]]> Wyatt Waddell’s manager called me back in August 2018, looking for a drummer to swing a gig with Waddell at Virgin Hotels, Chicago. He sent me some of the current tracks and demos, and I was immediately drawn to the soulful idiosyncrasies in the music. It wasn’t too long before I agreed to play the show with his band, and that eventually lead to more involvement in the project. Now, after several performances I’m much closer to the music and look forward to future collaborations.

Today, Wyatt Waddell released his third single “Untrain My Heart” ft. R E D (another Chicago based artist), with the support of ROSEBUD MUSIC GROUP. I had no involvement with the production of this particular track, but I gotta promote a job well done. And it’s groovin’, no doubt!

]]> After a consistent stretch of touring with Dead Horses in quartet fashion from mid 2017-early 2018, my life on the road with the band has simmered down a bit for now.  But I’m stoked to share that I’ve returned to the studio with Sarah Vos and Dan Wolff early this winter to knock out a series of new DH singles!

“Family Tapes”, the first Dead Horses single of 2019 was released today.

Recording with Dead Horses at The Refuge (Refuge Foundation for the Arts – Appleton, WI) alongside engineering wizard, Sam Farrell (The Lately, Cory Chisel), renewed my zeal for collaborative arranging while recording percussion on the fly. You’ll hear a more rockin’ approach to playing brushes on drum kit as well as some classic shaker and tambo on this track…

]]> I started working with Nicole Amine a couple of months ago as a fill-in for her usual dedicated drummer, and things quickly progressed from playing on a pick-up gig to diving into the studio to record a handful of her select songs.

Nicole just dropped her first single, “Wine Song” today, and I’m pleased to hear the final touches from that session.

It was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to work with Nicole and Zach Goforth (on bass) and Vic Kuligoski (lead guitar), along with Steve Shirk (SHIRK Studios) on this one.
